Annotation

This study focuses on a northern New Jersey community in which Turoyo, an imperiled Neo-Aramaic language, is spoken. This community endeavors to pass down the heritage language to their children by using Turoyo in the home, in social networks and in the Mor Gabriel Syriac Orthodox church, but identity is the factor that best explains the diversity of language shift cases.
