This paper explores American Community Survey (ACS) data on English language competence and home languages of first- and second-generation, highly educated, professional Iranian Americans. There is a high English language ability among the first-generation, but also a relatively high Persian use, at home, cultural and religious events, and via instruction, to at least preserve it through the second generation.
