Guaykuruan and Mataguayan languages (Gran Chaco) are typologically fascinating and rare cases given the ravel of their demonstrative systems, which unite spatial deixis with characteristics like visibility, tangibility, motion, position and (visual) evidence. The demonstratives also add to the pragmatic notifying of evidentiality, tense, and mood, which are not unavoidably codified in the predicate. These similitudes excell the likely (genetically) related forms, and indicate that language contact plays a significant role here.
