This paper shows how the official 'Farsi' language is normalized for governmental and private signs in Tabriz, a Northwest Iranian metropolis, prejudicing the large, native Azerbaijani-speaking minority, and not rendering a correct image of the city's linguistic repertoire, but one the state wants to convey.
