This paper on Albanian language politics in Yugoslavia’s Autonomous Province of Kosovo and in autonomous Kosovo, explores the kind of Albanian standard used in Kosovo before the 1968/1970/1974 admission of Albania’s Tosk-based standard Albanian in Yugoslavia? And wonders why Kosovo is the single post-Yugoslav nation-state that has not (yet?) been bestowed with its own singular (Kosovan) language, as in Central Europe, language is the only and primal basis for generating, legalising and preserving nations and nation-states.
