Data from a longitudinal language repertoire survey organised over three terms (1998, 2010 and 2015) in the South African Vaal Triangle area, reveal how multilingual urban students (N=1900+) consider multilingual repertoires as tools that back the promotion of social cohesion in intricate contexts. Could this also apply to rising “super-diverse” situations throughout the globe ?
