This case study of a Korean university where English has been ratified as official language, exemplifies major confusion (as to language choice) in social interactions that characteristically emerges in Korean spaces selected for English use, given its link with the ideology of monolingualism, and scepticism about the policy's efficiency in transforming students into proficient English speakers.
