204 Thai university students are shown to rate UK, US and Thai English speech notably higher than Indian, Chinese and Japanese forms of English, for proficiency and warmth, attitudinal dimensions matching novel social cognition findings, to be reckoned with in future research. Women and those most positively perceiving L1 variation held notably higher ingroup loyalty levels towards Thai English speakers.
