Annotation

Drawing on English language use in different contexts and domains in Urmia, and on (n=115) English language learners’ motivations and attitudes towards English, it is revealed that English has an active status, alongside Persian, Kurdish, and Turkish, and is considered a weighty international language amid Iranians inhabiting Urmia, (as pars pro toto), and one that imparts some social profits to its users.
