Annotation
Preoperative evaluation session data from a Scottish hospital show that usually on- and off -task transitions are unproblematic, and both nurse and patient respect off-topic talk's limited nature. Yet at times patients’ social talk leads to problem telling and personal divulgation, that may disorganize the institutional agenda and cause troubles as to sequence closure negotiation.
