This paper examines the basics of an ethnomethodological/conversation analytical view on "mediated" social interaction, in the sense that concerned interactants orient to the mediating channel's (phone, e-mail, videolink, etc.) affordances. It is claimed that the path differs from the “lack” outlook formerly usual in the literature.
