Annotation
This paper examines the link between psychological transference and metaphor based on actual Chinese university counseling therapist–client interaction. Transference is dealt with as reciprocal process of drafting a “PRESENT IS PAST” conceptual metaphor, a process which is considered to lead the client from a sense of connections at the conceptual plane (i.e., among entities, qualities, and relations), to consciousness at the transferential plane (between sentiments, emotions, and conducts).
