Annotation

In accord with equivocation and deception discovery theory forecast, question–answer sequence inquiry (N = 810) of U.S. presidential debates (1996-2012) shows that albeit politicians notably impute each other of avoidance, they not inevitably elude questions as much as publicly asserted. Politicians are perceived as very evasive, as, ironically, we tend to believe them when they blame opponents' ambiguity in vague situations.
