This sociophonetic analysis of dialect variation and change in the twice migrated East African Asian diaspora in Leicester, UK, reveals that, despite a strong East African connection, first-generation speakers mainly upheld Indian English patterns, whereas
second-generation speakers adjust to a (learned) East Midlands English variety.
