This inquiry tends to propose a balanced survey of the common English L2 learning motivation level (and main traits) in Chinese secondary schools and universities via the L2 Motivational Self System (Dörnyei 2005, 2009) view. Data may also be used in future analyses on temporal, social, and geographic contrast and development.
