Annotation

Centering on some linguistic variable co-variation in appearing Moroccan and Turkish Netherlandic Dutch varieties, it is explored whether distinct origin traits can be freely and arbitrarily blended and whether (co-)variation is wholly free or restricted. Both linguistic and social or ethnographic elements cause linguistic variable coherence, but linguistic rhyme and reason strike first. There are feature clusters without social distinction, areally-defined ones, and areally and age-linked ethnic origin-defined ones.
