Annotation

Three major French newspapers differently and unstably portray mainly North African immigrants' childrens' equivocal societal position from 2003 to 2013. Coverage is still sorted by partisan lines tied to the political/literary journalism model. Portrayal shifts are linked to (inter)national social, political, and economic dynamics. Thus integration narratives have been convoluted by the 2005 riots, both as romantic vision, reality mirror, or potential event result.
