Annotation

Caucasian 'Reading the Mind in the Eyes' testers have a notable ingroup advantage in deducing mental states of own- vs. other-ethnicity targets but no variation as to acculturation measures. East Asian Canadian residents exhibit greater precision for own- vs. other-ethnicity targets, and accuracy for Caucasians raised in function of (i) time spent in Canada, (ii) exchange experience with Caucasians, (iii) raised support of conventional Canadian values, and (iv) reduced heritage culture value support. This indicates that cross-cultural comprehension may be pliable to acculturation and cultural experience.
