Annotation

Drawing on Plautus' (ca. 254–184 B.C.) and Terence's (ca. 185–159 B.C.) comedies, this study on classic Latin linguistic politeness via congratulation speech act inquiry, explores two speaker chances to voice felicitation, and the interferences with other speech acts likewise conceived in the corpus.
