This quasi-empiric study explores potential contrasts between explicit inductive and deductive instructional approaches to English as a Foreign Language (EFL) pragmatic ability teaching, viz. in this case offer refusal teaching to advanced adult EFL learners in Germany. Explicit inductive instruction appears more efficient in pragmatic skills teaching.
