Annotation

The historical “prototype” of Cognitive Linguistics, mainly of mentalist belief, based on introspection, specialized in studying chiefly West-European -esp. English- language from a synchronic view, with little concern as to social and multimodal communicative aspects. Over the past years, many auspicious expansions have appeared. The Special Issue's contributions scrutinize these extensions by the methodological, cognitive, and social axes that enlarge cognitive linguistics' inquiry object across time, space and modality.
