Some immigrant informants that at first reputed the autochthonous Basque minority language as barrier, later became allies with it and with minority languages overall, by positive affective host society socialisation experiences and the raised perception that language skills made them community members. Also, the sociolinguistic situation is discerned as substitute model for reassessing one's own language ideology.
