Native monolingual Canadian English and multilingual Singaporean (S) raters variously judge Japanese accent in impulsive English second language (L2) talk. S-rater contact with diverse English models and daily use of plural L2s yields milder scores, albeit alike evaluation processes are used, drawing only on phonological facets of L2 speech.
