Annotation

This study centers on metalinguistic awareness (MLA) and its link to academic success for mono-, bi- and multilingual secondary pupils in Denmark, as the latter fall behind their monolingual peers. While no clear bi/multilingual asset appears on the MLA test, a potent connection between school leaving exam outcomes and MLA is found. Danish ability and socioeconomic status explain some test result variation too, so tempering intergroup test feat contrasts.
