Annotation

European higher education language policies are linked to bottom-up language provision practices. The bulk of replying students from Aveiro University (Portugal) view language course insertion in their curricula to be twice pragmatically fit. Firstly, English is seen as a road to knowledge access, mobility and career readiness, while other foreign languages (Spanish, French and German) are considered ‘distinguishing benefits' in the professional marketplace.
