The chances for an education in/with (immigrants') hertitage languages (HL), as a pedagogic and instructive plan, are not yet existent in Portuguese school curricula and customs, on the one hand, as no educational language policies integrate HLs, and on the other hand, as both schools and teachers do not appear to esteem HLs' role and utility in fostering intercultural and multilingual primary and secondary education.
