Annotation

This paper meditates on the role of media in modern international relations and international communication's ecological aspects in the technological age via the life and work of Edgar Snow, an American pioneering writer on China–US relations and an model internationalist. It is argued that a novel paradigm and an ethical mode of crosscultural communication for reciprocal dialogue, regard, and worthiness are needful if we wish to move toward a more fair global community. The Western reductionist science concept and its direct and short-term communication approach to the environment also require to be enhanced by the holistic and organic concept of communication and science stemming from the East.
