Annotation

This article examines officially fixed English education policies in Iran as well as tacitly covered de facto policy orientations in this field and their eventual discrepancies. Predicated upon the elucidation of these two policy types and especially pondering the sociocultural implications of including or shunning components of these policies, it evokes some worries about the general trend of English language education in Iran that might apply to the broader non-English-speaking world too.
