Annotation

This study argues that one can consider discourse analysis crossculturally in a politically ‘neutral’ way. The designed provisory and exploratory approach is based on the old Quine–Duhem philosophy thesis, setting a typical opinion on how science works. It is asserted that the thesis can also elucidate critical debate nature in society more commonly. Mixing insights from this thesis with insights from Karl Popper and the Iranian philosopher Abdolkarim Soroush, a Framework Discourse Analysis (FDA) approach is presented, serving to show how inconsistent perspectives may productively meet in a world flooded by clash and polarization.
