Annotation

This study centers on U.S. college students who engaged in a range of online conversations with learners in Singapore. Using Goffman's sociological work and Hecht's communication theory of identity, this paper concentrates on students’ self-conceptions relative to others, and identity work perceptions in cross-cultural conversations. Restrictions of this project and directions for future inquiry on intercultural communication classroom practice are pondered.
