Annotation

A crosscultural collation of the girl teen (from Western English-speaking popular culture), -often depicted as a susceptible phase of human evolution-, with other cultural representations of evolving femininity (the Japanese shoujo and the French jeune fille en fleur) reveals the “teen”-representation to be a making of its cultural context and obelizes its general pertinency.
