Annotation

There is an inclinaton towards Uyghur language shift as medium of instruction in schools in the autonomous Chinese Xinjiang Uyghur region. This paper proposes various examples of such a shift and then revises the language rights (LR) concept and practices them to the actual situation of the Uyghur language in the education field. Thereafter it introduces and debates some reasons to handle an urgent Xinjiang LRs worry in accord with China's domestic and some international conventions. Lastly, it presents the language ecology concept on the basis of legally binding LRs as a perfect vent for the Uyghur language in Xinjiang.
