This paper uses an approach which mixes online ethnography with discourse analysis, to examine how Facebook self-presentation is managed by privacy. Analysis of a dataset of statuses, comments, links, photographs and interviews from five Greek users, points out users’ imagination and criticalness in uniting software affordances, linguistic signals and textual practices to organize their privacy and thus their identity.
