Annotation
To enhance qualitative comprehension of member roles and identities in Online (health) support groups (OSGs), this paper examines the affordances and restrictions of corpus and systemic functional linguistics (SFL) for presenting quantitative help for earlier key assertions. The findings demonstrated noticeable differences between novel and experienced members’ language choices over the membership course, especially, in how veteran members offer advice, and in how novel and veteran members assign, in casu, bipolar disorder to both themselves and others.
