Annotation

This study argues that nonnative English-speaking teaching assistants’ (ITAs) start meaning negotiation in American university engineering labs, whilst interacting with native English-speaking undergraduate students, using different vague initiators (e.g. ‘what?’) which are least efficient in problem handling.
