Annotation

Three experiments examined how a positive or negative accentuation of only one of two analyzed dimensions in a politician (i.e., of merely warmth or competence), influences the perception of the other (additional) dimension, and how voting intentions are affected by these emphases. Also, it is analyzed how these one-dimensional person descriptions affect the assessment of the speakers uttering them. Politicians who represent their adversaries negatively, are also negatively judged. On the contrary, politicians who evaluate others positively are not automatically positively assessed.
