Annotation
By assaying and collating two sequences, drawn from a corpus of face-to-face interpreter-moderated meetings in pedagogical environs, this paper tries to display how multimodal analysis can add to a deeper grasp of the interactional dynamics of Dialogue Interpreting (DI). Notably, it elucidates how participants use multimodal resources (object manipulation, body position gaze, gesture, proxemics, ) to co-construct various participation frameworks throughout the meetings, and how the “ecology of action” (i.e., the links between the participants and the surrounding environment) affects interaction evolution.
