This paper proposes the findings of an analytical framework, designed to monitor prejudicial political discourse on immigration. Via the grasp of how some of the most pertinent studies in three disciplines (political science, social psychology and linguistics) have framed racism, it attempts to deduce how such racism may manifest in discourse via specific prejudicial bents. The combination of these bents has added to the designing of the proposed analytical framework that aspires, by means of 12 standards, to consistently certify political discourse as prejudicial, quantify how much prejudicial discourse is and evaluating how such discrimination is justified. By implementing such a framework within the context of Catalonia, this pilot study presents a global picture of how Catalan political discourse on immigration is constructed and how each of the standards appears (or does not appear) in discourse. Once the viability of this framework is proven, it is concluded it could be the basis of comparative research in other contexts.
