This paper sets out to reveal the pragmatic structure of a dialogue as an intricate net of dialogical goals (like persuasion, deliberation, information-sharing, etc.), which represent the communicative aims that the interlocutors intend to attain through their utterances. Dialogue moves are shown to represent the required interpretive link between the general description of the dialogical context or type and the syntactical assay of the sentences expressed by the individual utterances.
