Annotation

The metaphor of the nomad seems to be an understandable way to position the employees of organizations within non-territorial workspaces. Using the empirical data of a study of organizational change in a Nordic media company, this inquiry applied the discursive resources from the field of institutional interaction in the analysis. This paper proposes how the participants used the same metaphor of the nomad as a rhetorical strategy to back and oppose change, and proposes that the use of a specific discourse does not unavoidably contribute to the desired results.
