Annotation

There has long been a tight connection between the comedy and the sense of humour of British and Australians. Only the Australians were capable and ready to share the British sense of humour. The other side of this conncection is that Australian comedians like Dick Bentley, Joy Nicholls, Bill Kerr, Rolf Harris, Barry Humphries and Kevin Bloody Wilson, having triumphed in Australia, have continued to be successful in Britain as well. Obviously the same formulae operate in both countries.
