Poles’ perceptions about the reality of the past decades warranted the production of certain meme personalities deeply rooted in the Polish culture (viz. Janusz, Grażyna, Seba and Karyna) and twinning the novel social phenomena which arose newly. The names now have connotative potential, acting as labels raising many traits and intricate pictures, as illustrated by the Janusz character. These culture-bound items are interesting from a cross-linguistic and cross-cultural view. They will be assayed and collated to the character of the English-language Bad Luck Brian memes.
