This paper explores "imagined constructed thought”: speakers vocalizing the inner world of a non-present other. The findings present that proposing the patients’ thoughts from a first-person view can be a multilateral mode of staging a diversity of intricate epistemic and empathic actions in this milieu. Data are in British English.
