A general approach to semantics is presented. Semantics is taken in a broad sense, i.e. the study of all different kinds of meaning systematically encoded in natural languages. The book is divided in three parts, each handling the semantics of one level of linguistic utterances, viz. the word and phrase, the sentence, and beyond the sentence (utterance and text).
