Annotation

Conversation analysis is employed to explore the interactional practices involved in activity naming. Speakers employ epistemic questions to handle an activity name as non-recognized. Clarifying the name after its formulation implicitly handles it as non-identifiable. Interactants can co-word the name after a description of the activity. Recognitionals can be the basis for clarifying an altered version of the activity.
