Qingmian (affection-based face) is an emic manifestation of connection face, which aids (re)accomplishing relational connection. A Chinese culture-particular relationship management model is presented. The model is realized via repairing mianzi (face) and repaying renqing (favor). Emotional factors are included into the notions of face support and face threat.
