This paper handles WhatsApp communication amid native Spanish speakers in Mexico and proposes an assay of 82 WhatsApp messages including requests sent by 60 native Spanish speakers, members of two distinct groups. Conventional indirectness was the most usual requesting strategy in the chats. Opening and closing sequences emerged in all of the assayed interactions. Greetings were chosen over deferential address forms. Participants observed the sequence: request→ response→ closing in their chats.
