This paper highlights constructional borrowing vice single-word borrowing. In working with Twitter data, it breaks with the tradition of print media corpora typical of anglicism inquiry. The paper examines NLP approaches in a field of research that has mostly depended upon manual coding of small-scale datasets. It elucidates how matter and pattern replication can go hand in hand in contact-induced pragmatic change.
