Mongolian prenominal possessives are indexical, while postnominals convey attitude.
Postnominal possessives are often reinterpreted as (inter)subjectivity markers.
Subjective markers express closeness (1sg), deference (2sg.hon) or common bond (1pl). The intersubjective markers convey joint epistemic stance. These markers can be cooperative (1pl) or authoritative (2sg.non-hon).
