The Hebrew tag-naxon? (tag-right?) questions have two functions in teacher talk. One function is Seeking Confirmation of Topic Identification (SCoTI). Another function is Soliciting Confirmation of Topic Understanding (SCoTU). SCoTI is expansion-implicative, enabling misconceptions to surface. SCoTU is closure-implicative, hedging further debate.
